H.264 coming to Silverlight at last

Microsoft's getting with the program: the company has previewed support for H.264 video content in Silverlight. Some may question why it has taken Redmond so long to embrace the video standard.

A top Samsung UK executive has demolished Blu-ray’s chances of being relevant for more than about 5 years, if that, in an interview with UK tech site Pocket-link. How “blu” must Sony be feeling with Samsung right now?!

We’re a long, long way from $50 Blu-ray drive prices and less than $1 per blank Blu-ray disc as we are in the world of CDs and DVDs, but an important step towards those price points being a reality has occurred as prices have fallen. So, Universal: when will we see a Blu-ray title?

Now that NHK have reported Toshiba’s imminent announcement of HD DVD’s death, Universal’s declaration earlier this year, in Australia, of ‘at least’ 20 new titles during 2008, must look very shaky. How long now before they too jump ship and go Blu?
